Our Audit Policy

At LÖSEV, every penny matters, and we are deeply grateful for every donation, every step taken, and every contribution made in support of our mission. Guided by the principles of transparency and sincerity, we work to ensure that donations are used appropriately. We manage our finances with great care and attention to detail, striving to maintain the highest level of trust among our donors.

Your support touches not only the lives of the children in our care but also those of their families, bringing hope to them all. To honour the trust you place in us, we continuously review our audit and improvement processes. At every step, LÖSEV works together with you to achieve a stronger and more effective impact.

Our Audit and Accountability Practices

  • At LÖSEV, an official donation receipt is issued for every donation, even contributions of TRY 1 and in-kind donations of second-hand goods. No donations are accepted off the books. All transactions are officially recorded, and information is provided on how donations are allocated.
  • All income and expenditure records are maintained digitally in accordance with the uniform accounting system required by the Ministry of Finance.
  • Every item sent by the Foundation, even something as small as a single pin, is documented in an official report prepared in duplicate and recorded in the files of the families receiving assistance.
  • All purchases, regardless of their size, are handled by the Purchasing Committee. At least three to four quotations are obtained, and efforts are made to source items through donations wherever possible.
  • All accounts maintained by the accounting department are reviewed by the Financial Affairs Coordinator, who assumes responsibility through joint sign-off. The accounts are also reviewed by the relevant audit boards.
  • All income and expenditure are audited by an independent financial services firm, with the findings presented in a report. The accounts are also audited by a certified public accountancy firm with international affiliations.
  • Our Internal Audit Unit conducts both scheduled and unscheduled visits to all departments. These audits assess whether the Foundation's activities are carried out in accordance with its institutional principles and whether donations are used in line with the Foundation's objectives and principles of economy. The findings are documented and reported regularly.
  • As expected of all civil society organisations, our Foundation is committed to transparency. Some of the most valuable feedback on our work comes directly from our volunteers, children and their families.
